I love Maine. One day, I'm going to return to Belfast, Maine, buy one of those old brick warehouses on the edge of downtown, near the harbor and convert it into a big shop/studio/living space... I'll write songs, try writing a book, maybe learn to paint finally and start making furniture. I want to make the perfect chair... and its companion, the perfect table. I'll have the rest of my life to get it right. There is much saw dust to be made... That's what my father used to say when I'd ask him what he was doing in his shop all those hours... "Turning perfectly good wood into saw dust." When asked, I'll tell people, "I'm a carpenter". Every morning, I'll wake up, put on some Carhartts, make coffee, and then Emma and I will swing open the shop doors and watch the town wake up... There also might be a girl involved. But she'd have to really love me a lot to put up with that. It'll happen. I've got some things to do first though...
