2009 and 2010
Hmmmm... A new year. It does force one to reflect, doesn't it? And then drink heavily.
2009 has been a pretty good year, I'd say. But not without it's ups and downs. Telle est la vie. Telle est la musique. Tel est l'amour. Telle est lart.
The passing of a year forces one in to list mode. And I admit it. I'm a list guy. So, without further ado, here are my lists:
Things That Got Done In 2009
- Recorded Beautiful Empty with some of the most talented people I've ever worked with (yes - i just ended a sentence with a preposition -- sue me)
- Recorded another, as yet unnamed record
- Started writing a third record
- Played some amazing shows with some amazing artists
- Helped found the People's Kazoo Orchestra
- Collaborated with 65 visual artists from all over the country (Common Box Project)
- Collaborated with 15 filmmakers from all over Colorado (Beautiful Empty Short Film Conspiracy)
- I got a radial arm saw -- and haven't cut a finger or hand off yet!
- Did a triathlon with my brother (his first)
- Became friends with some incredible people
- Wow. This list could be really long...
- I should stop, probably
- And it's boring anyway.
Here's the point: 2009 was a good, hard, creative, amazing year! I'm ready for 2010. Bring it on.
I hope YOU have a great 2010. I hope we'll see each other out there somewhere -- soon -- in the new year!
