Wow.
Last night was easily one of the best moments in my musical life. I'm not kidding -- everything EVERYTHING about the night came together in ways that completely blew me away. The music, the short films, the art, the audience, the venue, the stage, the sound, the lights, the love and kindness in the room, the attendance (we hoped for 250 people and got 400+) and the loving and appreciative feedback from everyone who was there.
I'm floating... still.
It was a lot of work to pull it all together and it was only possible because literally about 150 people were involved in the various aspects of the record, the films, the art, the setup, the venue, the promotion... you'd be appalled at the details and logistics, really. But all of that work is what made the night such a great time!
If you weren't able to come to our Denver show last night, you can buy a copy of Beautiful Empty on the store page of our website. It's also available in Denver at Twist and Shout Records.
A documentary film has already been shot and is on its way to being made about the whole project -- the process to make Beautiful Empty, the box art project, the short film project, and the show last night. In fact, they had 4 cameras there last night shooting the event -- in the room and back stage. So at some point in the future, you'll be able to see some of what made last night so special.
Photos that friends and fans took are starting to stream in. We'll be posting a lot more this week. Here are just a few from last night...

Now I've had the chance to listen 3x to your group's new CD. Therein I recognize everything as you folks played all of these tunes the other night! Listening to JC&tBFoL live was a bit more fun to watch and participate a bit too! Very Good job!!!
Also, I was impressed at the eagerness of your Denver-based crowd. More good job to the band members and mucho kudos therein...

Dear JOHN & BfoL: Very much enjoyed your whole band and their great performance last Sat night in the retrofitted warehouse spot at 26th & Walnut. Only negative comment was that the second band went on way too long (and was blasting way too loud), thus your own band didn't begin this long-awaited performance until 10:45pm and by then you'd lost some of your own crowd.
Good luck and have fun going down the road to the next intersections in life, love & music... Enjoying your group's CD right now. Thanks!!! Happy Trails...

Dave - thanks for making the show! So sorry the staff and sound bummed you out. We didn't hear that from other folks, but in a big crowded room I could see how that might happen. Hope you stick with us!

The staff at Casslemans was pretty lame and the sound was awkward. I would advise against the venue again. (I know I will not be going back)
