PKO Recruiting Poster

Hello PKO'ers,

Here's what happens every time I tell someone about the PKO:

1) They think I'm kidding.
2) They realize I'm not kidding and start smiling/giggling.
3) They want in.

Dear John,

(Do you get nervous every time you get a letter? All of your letters are Dear John letters, which, were I you, would make me very skittish about opening any mail at all. Anyway.)

While I've never thought of myself as a Kazooist, I am deeply interested in the PKO. If not for the drinking, then for the sheer (and might I add, beautiful) absurdity of it all. I do find the idea that one needs an invitation to the auditions for an orchestra of what could surely be argued is the People's Musical Instrument to be contrary to the very nature of the instrument. It seems to me that the Kazoo is like the great equalizer. Like death and taxes, only much more fun. Nevertheless, I would love an invitation if possible, because, "It's Kazoo, not KaYou" are wise words to live by.

Dear Shawna,

You are precisely the kind of stock that the PKO desires and requires. Consider yourself extremely invited! The PKO Tryout (everyone gets in) and Rehearsal on Wed, Jan 28th at the Oriental Theater is one of those things where the only invitation you need is to know about it. Just come!

Not only that, consider yourself duly appointed to go out and prosyletize to your friends and associates. The PKO is all about the more, the merrier! I think it's gonna be a big, beautiful mess... I literally can't wait to see how it all shapes up.
