Funny how the news has a way of seeping into our subconscious.
I keep thinking about the similarities between American religious fundamentalism and other forms of religious fundamentalism. How it's based on black and white thinking, feeling separate and disconnected, "being right", digging in... But it's all the same -- just slightly different packaging.
