Turnaround Music Video Recognized in LA Film Festival

Filmmaker and frequent JC&BFoL collaborator Darci Alishouse made a short film for the song "Turnaround" that just got accepted into the prestigious, indie-only, Los Angeles-based film festival Dances With Films for 2011.

This is a very big honor and we're so proud to have our song be a part of a larger work of art like this.  The film festival judges describe the video:

"This beautiful and dramatic music video for the song "Turnaround" by Denver indie band John Common & Blinding Flashes of Light depicts the rise and fall of love and family contained within a bedroom, a hypnotic and voyeuristic account of the life cycle of relationships. The use of light and movement in a surreal environment pulls the viewer in visually and enhances the already powerful music and lyrics."

The video will make its West Coast debut on June 3rd. at Laemmle Sunset 5 theatre on Sunset Blvd. We will be screening the video here on our website the day after, on our Media page, Vimeo channel and Facebook pages.

CONGRATUATIONS DARCI!!!

NOTE: This is the second film collaborator to get their work accepted into film festivals.  Drai Lloyd's incredibel video for the song "Same Scar" has also received similar honors.  You can see the Same Scar video on our Media, Vimeo and YouTube pages.
