Taos is beautiful today... a little snow, sun peaking through. Pinon smoke is curling up from the brick and the adobe houses all across town... Vibe everywhere. I'm sitting at an old farmer's table in a hundred plus year old hacienda right off of the plaza in the center of town. Looking through old windows out across the courtyard at the trees and the whitegray sky trying to make up its mind whether (weather?) to give sun or snow. We're playing a house concert tonight here at the hacienda. Haleigh (she owns/runs Golightly Cashmere incredible stuff -- check it out!) lives here. Such a relaxed beautiful place. It's gonna be a great time... I can feel it. Man... I do love this town. Every time I drive down here I think... "One day... I'm gonna live here... or maybe buy a little piece of land north of town and build a small cabin to write and read and think, drink coffee in and retreat to. Last night, it occurred to me how really cool it would be to make a record down here. I'm going to throw that out to the universe and see what comes back. I can see making an acoustic-leaning, live-ish record with handful of friends and a handful of songs I've written recently... That could be so fun.
